These sandals are made of vegetable-tanned leather with a compact grain and a smooth finish. They are constructed from a single piece of leather that wraps around the foot from below, with knotted waxed laces attached from the toe strap to wrap around the ankle. The edges are painted and the leather sole is padded, securing them from wear and tear.
